Featuring former CUW professor Andy Hayes

The MSW Professional Development Series was created to help students complete their MSW with a well-rounded, fully prepared scope of applied skills. Many of these skills apply to other fields and professions, as well! We are happy to have other fields and professions join our conversation!

This month, we will have Andy Hayes, a former professor at CUW who helped establish the MSW with Business Certificate degree. He has a great deal of leadership experience and will share about the importance of leadership, especially within the field of social work.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Andy Hayes graduated from the MSW program at UW-Madison in 2001 then worked with refugees and immigrants, helping them adjust to life in the United States. From there he worked at an employee assistance program providing assessment, referral, brief therapy, HR consultation, leadership coaching, and critical incident services.

Andy obtained an MBA at Marquette University to develop management and leadership skills then served in leadership roles for 7 years in behavioral health and senior living. He then taught at CUW for 3 years in the Social Work Programs, teaching courses on leadership/management, aging and social policy, and helped develop CUW’s Business Certificate with MSW.

Presently, Andy serves as the Campus Administrator at Dickson Hollow, a non-profit senior living community in Menomonee Falls. He misses working at CUW and misses the faculty, staff, AND students!
