Start with the right foundation

You have an eye for well-arranged spaces, welcoming environments, and communicating ideas - even identities - through visual cues. But you don’t know whether to go to an art institute or a liberal arts university. With our major in interior architecture and design, you can have both. We’ve joined with the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design to offer a cooperative program that will give you hands-on experience and a well-rounded, faith-based education.

Program Overview

You will be prepared to utilize space in a meaningful way with an interior architecture and design degree through our co-op program with Milwaukee Institute of Art and design (MIAD).

Throughout your interior architecture degree program, you will take the majority of your classes (including the Liberal Arts Core, the majority of your major, and your minor) at Concordia University Wisconsin. You will attend MIAD for the remaining 30 credits.

Architecture design major graduates have paired this major with a complementary minor (in business, entrepreneurship, or art) to further their abilities and career endeavors.

What to Expect

Interior architecture and design degree students will develop a deep understanding of color and media dynamics, 3-D modeling, and computer-aided design (CAD) drawing. You will have a strong foundation in the Liberal Arts (history, english, communication, and the social sciences) and hands-on experience working with clients. You will also complete and assemble a senior portfolio to show the work you’ve accomplished throughout your interior architecture degree.
