The Earth and Space Sciences certificate explores the geology, oceanography, meteorology, and astronomy of God's creation.
Program Overview
Concordia's undergraduate certificates provide students with the opportunity to specialize in another field outside of their major course of study. They can also help secondary/K12 education students earn teacher licensure in various areas of interest.
The Earth and Space Sciences Certificate studies the processes and makeup of the earth, its atmosphere, and beyond.
Upon completion of this certificate, you'll be equipped to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of and an ability to explain foundational earth
and space scientific concepts pertaining to astronomy, the atmosphere and hydrosphere, and
internal and surface earth materials and processes. - Demonstrate the ability to appropriately collect and analyze data while utilizing
laboratory equipment and procedures safely and effectively - Demonstrate an understanding of how/why a Christian sees evidence of God’s
design in nature and how to be good stewards of His creation - Develop investigative and critical thinking skills to explore questions in earth
and space sciences by gathering, interpreting, and communicating data
