Dr. Cherry Watts
I am currently serving as an adjunct instructor at Concordia University-Wisconsin in the Department of Special Education. Recently, I retired as an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Studies and Director of the Special Education Institute at the University of Tennessee at Martin. My research agenda has included diversity, language acquisition in pre-school children, middle level teaching strategies, and the use of storytelling in social studies contexts. My educational background includes a B.A. from Wellesley College, a M.Ed. from Temple University, and a Ph.D from Vanderbilt University. In addition to teaching at the university level, I have fifteen years of teaching middle level and special education students in public and private schools. Teaching, both face-to-face and online, is a delight and I hope to continue supporting students who want to improve their teaching practice.
