Online Instructor CUW, Online & Face-to-Face Instructor CUAA
I have dedicated my life to education and family. God’s gift to us is our life. How we live our life is our gift to God. I try to live my life well.
I have been a teacher for over forty years and an adjunct professor for ten years. Teaching continues to bring such joy to my life. Each day, I learn something new and valuable from my students, and hopefully, they have learned something new and valuable, as well.
I have been happily married to my husband, John, for forty years. We have been blessed with two wonderful adult daughters.
I have more interests than I have time for. I always find time for family gatherings and outings with friends. My other interests include reading, cars, antiques, home decorating, gift-wrapping, cooking, and entertaining.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology from Wayne State University. Additionally, I earned a Master of Arts in Special Education, a K-12 Reading Specialist Endorsement, and Reading Recovery Certification from Oakland University.
I am currently employed as a reading specialist/ assessment coordinator/literacy coach/English learner interventionist for Clawson Public Schools. I have taught every grade from kindergarten through eight. I have held many leadership roles in my school district, including school and district improvement chair, para-educator coordinator, MTSS leader, and professional development provider/teacher trainer.
This is my 10th year as an adjunct professor at Concordia University in the MSEL program. I teach both face-to-face and online classes. The courses I have taught include EDU 520, 540, 545, 560, 580, 845, and 880.
