Rev. Dr. Brian German
Director of Concordia Bible Institute; Online Instructor
After being born in Cambridge, Ohio, I was raised on a farm just south of Fort Wayne, Indiana. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Pre-Seminary Studies from our very own Concordia University Wisconsin back in 2006, a Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Theological Seminary (Fort Wayne, IN) in 2010, and a Ph.D. in biblical studies from Wycliffe College (Toronto, Ontario) in 2014. I began serving the Lord at Concordia University Wisconsin in the summer of 2014 as Assistant Professor of Theology and the Director of Concordia Bible Institute, a servant institute of the university that exists to provide Christ-centered Bible instruction to wide audiences. In my role as professor I teach mostly REL 100, which is an introduction to the Bible. In my role as director I lecture on a variety of biblical passages and topics. My research focuses on how earlier interpreters of the Bible understood the presence of Christ in the Old Testament. My wife Kalia and I have two children, Grace (born 2013) and Zephaniah (born 2015). My hobbies include weightlifting and playing basketball.
